سعدیا مرد نکونام نمیرد هرگز / مرده آن است که نامش به نکویی نبرند

در آغازین روزهای سال نو، گرد هجرانی بر ما نشست و استادی گرانسنگ از میان ما رخت بر بست. استاد احمد سمیعی گیلانی ادیب و ویراستار برجسته ایران زمین و فرزند شایسته گیلان عزیز از میان ما رفت و ما را اندوهناک خویش کرد .
فعالیت آن فقید در دوران زندگی طولانی وی ، ثمره های ارزنده‏ ای برای فرهنگ این مرز و بوم داشت و همه، در کار ادب‏اندوزی و ادب‏آموزی گذشت.
میراث ادبی به جای مانده از این بزرگ مرد عرصه زبان و ادب پارسی، چنان درخشان و مایه ور است که نمی‌توان به سادگی از کنار آن عبور کرد؛ آثاری که هریک حائز اعتبار و ارزش علمی و ادبی بسزایی است با انبوهی از کتاب‌ها، مقالات، پژوهش‌ها، ترجمه‌ها و نشان‌های افتخار ملی و بین المللی و قدردانی های بسیار از آن چه بود و آن چه همت نمود .
به واقع اهمیت کار استاد سمیعی گیلانی، در اهتمام و توجه به درست نویسی بود. کار ویراستار ،زیبا کردن زشتی هاست یا به تعبیر بهتر، زیباتر کردن زیبایی.
استاد سمیعی گیلانی با طبع لطیف و نگاه هنرمندانه و بینش عمیق خود، زیبایی ها را در قامتی پسندیده و شایسته ارائه می کرد آنگونه که هر که بر آن نظری می نمود ، زبان به تحسین آن می گشود.
در دیدارهای جداگانه و همچنین مراسمی که برای بزرگداشت یکصدمین سالروز این ادیب و ویراستار برجسته‌ در فرهنگستان زبان و ادب فارسی برپا بود ،پیشنهاد شد که ۱۱ بهمن زادروز احمد سمیعی گیلانی، به عنوان روز ملی ویراستار انتخاب شود که به یقین درج این روز در تقویم ملی ،ادای دینی به این استاد ارجمند خواهد بود.
امید است با حسن نظری که شورای فرهنگ عمومی و شورای عالی انقلاب فرهنگی به امور فرهنگی دارد ، به زودی شاهد تصویبِ این پیشنهاد و درج این روز در تقویم کشورمان باشیم.
این جانب فقدان این ادیب و ویراستار و مترجم گرانمایه را به خانواده محترم ایشان،مردم عزیز خطه گیلان، تمامی اصحاب دانش ،فرهنگ و ادب کشور بویژه اعضای محترم فرهنگستان زبان و ادب فارسی که این فقید سعید عضو پیوسته و شایسته آن بود،تسلیت می گویم.
از خداوند بزرگ رحمت و مغفرت واسعه برای آن مرحوم و صبر و اجر سترگ برای بازماندگان و علاقمندان ایشان را درخواست می کنم.
یادش بادوام و نامش بر کتیبه فرهنگ این مرز و بوم جاودان باد.

Message of condolence from Mahmood Shalooei, Head of the Society for the Appreciation of Cultural Works and Dignitaries, on demise of Professor Ahmad Samiei Gilani

O Sa`di, a man with a good name will never die

those die who do not live with a good name

 At the beginning of the new year, we were informed with sorrow that the veteran Iranian writer and editor Professor Ahmad Samiei Gilani passed away.

During his long life, he spent much of his worthwhile time on teaching and learning and providing valuable cultural services for the country.

He left rich literary legacy in Persian language and literature for the posterity, too significant to be simply ignored. He created a lot of valuable scientific and literary works including books, essays, researches, and translations and received various national and international awards and honors.

In fact, Professor Samiei Gilani’s work was largely concerned with orthography. The editor’s profession is the beautification of ugliness, that is to say, to make beauty more beautiful.

Professor Samiei Gilani, with his gentle nature, artistic look, and deep insight, presented the beauties in a pleasing and worthy form, which won the admiration of the audience.

In separate meetings, as well as the 100th anniversary of this prominent writer and editor that was held at the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, it was suggested that Bahman 11th (January 31st) the birth anniversary of Ahmed Samiei Gilani, to be recognized as the National Editors Day in the official calendar of Iran to pay homage to this literary figure.

It is hoped that with the support of Iran`s General Culture Council and the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, the proposal to be approved and the day to be included in the calendar of our country.

I express my condolences on the loss of this veteran writer, editor and translator to his respected family, the dear people of Gilan, all the men of knowledge, culture and literature of the country, especially the esteemed members of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature. May Allah Almighty bless the departed soul and grant him eternal peace and give patience to his family and friends.

May his name and his memory remain forever in the cultural domain of this land.
