Message from the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the Occasion of the 3rd Commemoration of Hakim Nezami

O you whose name is the best beginning
without your name when shall I begin a story?

Persian language is regarded as pillars on which the human cultural identity stands which has protected the vast expanse of this cultural territory from the ravages of time.
The spread of Islam to this land with the truth-seeker people converting to Islam as well as cherishing it over many centuries provided the ground for nurturing brilliant thinkers, each in turn, has contributed to construct the magnificent structure of the world`s cultural history. They are indeed the guardians of culture, religion, literature and wisdom of this divine region. We are honored to have Hakim Nezami as an indication of such inheritors, who was dedicated and determined to have the rich culture, heritage and history of this territory recognized and respected for several centuries.
Thanks to the Persian language devotees and enthusiasts, there is no doubt that the stance of Hakim Nezami in Persian language and literature and the history of ancient Iran, now in the stature of a wise literary scholar with a sweet and refined language has found its way through his invaluable works to lodged in the heart and mind of Persian speaking people in the world. The epic narrative of romances and mysticisms of this Persian-speaking sage is so intertwined with the thoughts and works of other poets and writers of Persian language that a lasting exemplary school has been founded in the form of naziras to the masnavis in Nezami's Panj Ganj.
We are thankful to God that once again through the persistent efforts of our colleagues in the headquarters of the commemoration of Hakim Nezami as well as scholars, writers, artists and researchers, for the third consecutive year, the honorable name of this wise sage resonates across regional, national and international arenas.
I would like to express my gratitude to all the organizers of this great event, and ask Allah Almighty to bestow upon them glory and prosperity. I am confident that the Islamic Republic of Iran will spare no efforts for introducing and honoring prominent literary figures like Hakim Nezami.
