Head of SACWD in the national commemorating conference of Ibn Yamin Faryumadi:
Persian poetry needs to be simplified for youth
The national commemorating conference of Ibn Yamin Faryumadi, one of the eminent poets of the eighth century, was held by the Society for the Appreciation of Cultural Works and Dignitaries (SACWD) with the cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance General Directorate of Semnan Province with the presence of a large number of officials, professors, researchers and students of Persian language and literature in Poursina hall in Shahroud University of Medical Sciences.
Head of the SACWD said in his remarks in the conference: “If we better introduce the insight of such scholars as Ibn Yamin Faryumadi, our youth will not pursue the thoughts and works of foreign scholars.”
Shalooei went on saying: “Our conferences should provide a platform to introduce the lofty thoughts and insights of Persian scholars so that the great legacy of the past will be transferred to the new generation in the best possible way.”
He underlined that simplified poems and literary texts will lead to better introducing literary scholars and said: “Our cultural researchers should present the Persian literary and cultural heritage using new art tools and activities to present it in modern language so that youth can better understand it.”
Elsewhere in the event, Hojjat al-Islam Abbas Amini, Friday Imam of Shahroud, addressed the issue and said: “Introducing the scholars` worldview in the form of specialized conferences is seen as necessary to contribute the spiritual development of the society.”
He emphasized: “Paying attention to the cultural, scientific and spiritual heritage of our country and presenting them to the society will have a significant effect on strengthening youth`s thinking and activities.”
In another part of the event, Navid Firouzi, the scientific secretary of the conference said: “A total of 50 articles have been submitted to the secretariat from all over the country to be reviewed and judged in various literary and historical fields.”
Stating that the articles that investigate a new perspective on Ibn Yamin`s poems and thoughts will gain higher scores, Firoozi continued: “The first and second three winners will receive cash awards.”
Farshid Fallah, the General-Director of Islamic Culture and Guidance of Semnan Province, also maintained: “This national conference will be held for the second time after 20 years. Thanks to the efforts made by the SACWD with the cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance General Directorate of Semnan Province, next year, the national conference of Manuchehri Damghani will be held in Damghan, Semnan province.”
In this meeting, the governor of Shahroud also presented a report on implementing constructions on the tomb of Ibn Yamin, and expressed his gratitude to the SACWD and the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance General Directorate of Semnan Province for holding a commemoration of this eminent Persian poet.”
During the event, some Persian language scholars and researchers presented lectures on the poetry and thought of Ibn Yamin Faryumadi, and a group of authors were honored with certificates of appreciation and prizes.
